Professional Installations Industrial Installations
Boeing Customer Experience Center/Teague - Morgan Sound was responsible for the design and installation of the audio systems for this new Renton facility. Our responsibilities also extended to the installation and termination of all the video cabling for the facility as well. JBL Contractor Control and AE Series speaker systems were used to cover all the areas of the building, as well as the conference rooms. Please see the Photo Gallery for views of this exciting new facility!
Snohomish PUD Emergency Operations Center - Morgan Sound designed and installed a new audio/video system that allows the Snohomish PUD to use its conferencing room/public meeting facility as an EOC should the need arise. New screens, projectors and audio systems were installed, along with AMX touch screen controls and video switching. The capability of Webstreaming was included in the audio system that also included Polycom processors for conference calling. All software programming and hardware was provided by Morgan Sound.
King County Aquatics Center/Federal Way, WA - Morgan Sound installed this Onpoint Designs system in this World Class Aquatics Center. The system had to meet rigid standards for exposure to high humidity and corrosive elements, so the JBL PD5322 speaker system was used. The system was installed from the catwalk at 65 feet above the pool. All new Crown amplification and wiring was installed, as well as Soundweb London processing and remote controls. The photos in the Gallery show the riggers at work as the speakers and custom brackets are installed. Due to the size and scale of the venue, no photos from the ground were chosen for the gallery ... the speakers are simply not visible.
Orient Express Train System - Morgan Sound developed a unique audio system for this famous train system that travels the US and Canada. The train consists of refurbished cars from the 50's and 60's. Wireless microphone systems and amplification systems with paging overrides were designed with a unique capability that allows the train to be configured in any manner desired without losing the hierarchy of the override systems. This was all done on one four pair cable between cars.
Boeing Noise Labs - Morgan Sound has been a provider and consultant to Noise Labs for a number of projects. The latest project made us responsible for the design and implementation of a system being used for testing aircraft fuselage noise attenuation. The system is comprised of JBL Array Series Speaker Systems, driven by JBL MPA amplifiers. The entire system is under Media Link control, software developed and marketed by Lone Wolf Technologies. This was the first system in the United States to utilize this control over JBL amplifiers. MIDI based control systems were integrated to allow absolute repeatability of tests being performed.
Microsoft Media Center, Building 12 - In October of 1992, we were contacted to design and install an integrated sound system for the new Media Services Center, nearing completion. Five areas in the building were to be serviced. The main room was outfitted with two 24 channel consoles, one for live audio, one for audio to video. The main system utilized JBL Concert Series speakers and subwoofers, with ES52000 Digital Controllers providing speaker time alignment and crossover functions. Bose ceiling speakers provided the reinforcement for dialogue. A complete transformer isolated snake system was installed, along with a multi channel infrared assistive listening system. UHF wireless microphones were installed (10 channels). A rear surround system was installed to accommodate the desire to play movies over the large screen in the center of the platform. The adjacent training rooms were outfitted with Bose ceiling speakers. These training room systems were integrated into a global communications system. The dining room was also outfitted with Bose ceiling speakers which were enhanced with 18" subwoofers suspended in the ceiling tiles. The entire project, from request for quotation to completion, took 28 days.
The Bellevue Athletic Club - a 9,500 watt sound system was installed in the newly completed aerobics facility. New JBL speakers were installed over the floor of this facility, suspended from the open beam architecture.
The Westmark Hotel, Fairbanks - A complete system was installed to accommodate the Gold Rooms East, West and Center. A complete back box and conduit system was used to house the Bose 102 ceiling speakers. Digital Crosspoint Matrix Systems were used to allow instant reconfiguration of the room to any of a number of desired setups. Three wireless systems were also installed, with remote controls at all of the head table locations. Due to the high amount of use, the facility was not available for any block of time, so installation had to be accomplished in 42 hours over a 60 hour period.
Snohomish County PUD Auditorium - Morgan Sound redesigned and retrofitted the exiting sound system to make it more user friendly. A new wiring system was installed, and a new mixing console was integrated into the system to allow road show productions to be handled by the venue. Most notably, control and switching devices were installed to allow the entire electronic architecture of the system to be reconfigured with one switch. The two available modes were "Lecture" and "Theater". In lecture mode, the existing automixer took control of the system and allowed users with basic skills to handle simple lectures and board meetings. In Theater mode, the system switched over to the production mixer. In this way, a theater production's settings need not be disturbed to allow an event to take place downstage of the curtain during those days when the theater production was dark. All the available wireless microphones and auxiliary audio sources tracked this switchover.
Fluke Park / Evergreen Way - Morgan Sound recently completed a two phase process at this manufacturing plant in South Everett. The existing, non functional sound system was reworked, and new amplifiers were installed to complete the need for the factory to be able to communicate with all sections of the manufacturing and management areas. A priority override system was also installed to allow full volume announcements to be made in those areas where the personnel might have turned down any of the local volume controls that were provided.
Seattle Pacific University - A new multi box system was designed and installed at The Brougham Pavilion. The system included an eight box center cluster with an additional set of two downfiring speakers to cover the playing floor. Two additional speakers were installed on the East wall of the gymnasium for those times when chairs were placed on the floor. Two separate sets of balcony delay speakers for the North and South balcony bleachers were installed. New power amplifiers were installed in the equipment room above the playing floor, along with the new front end control pieces, which included a dual memory, dual channel time delay and a digitally controlled analog equalizer with memory presets. One control surface switch was provided for setup selection. In "game" mode, the center cluster and balcony delay speakers worked in tandem. The East wall speakers were off, and the down firing speakers served as monitors with separate level control of the individual inputs. In "chapel" mod.
