Church Installations

Bellevue Christian Reformed Church - Installed in 2005, Morgan Sound designed a unique system for this church to match the architecture design by Bob Becker of Redmond. The design called for clean lines with speakers that matched the pendant lighting. The speaker system is divided into zones to provide best coverage of the congregation seating area. The video system interfaces to the electric screens on the side walls of the Altar platform. Please see photos of the Bellevue Christian Reformed Church in the Photo Gallery.

City Church / Belltown - Morgan Sound partnered with On Point Designs.of Olympia, Washington to successfully renovate the old IBEW Hall in downtown Seattle. Our duties included the installation of JVL VT4888 Vertec speaker systems flanking the new Altar platform with JBL Custom Shop MS28 'hotrod' downfill speakers for the front rows. Crown CL series amplification was used. A Yamaha DM2000 mixing console and Soundweb speaker management completed the package. Please see photos in the Photo Gallery.

City Church / Plateau - Another On Point Designs./Morgan Sound partnership resulted in the transformation of the Trinity Lutheran College Cathedral into an intimate worship space with State-of-the-Art Lighting and Sound suspended from an aluminum truss system. Morgan Sound designed the audio system and supplied and installed all components. JBL VT4888 speakers are arrayed off the ends of the truss, and are powered by Crown CL4 amplifiers. The DM2000 console feeds Soundweb processing. Please see photos of City Church / Plateau during construction and installation in our photo gallery.

Good Samaritan Church/Sammamish, WA - In the photo gallery you will see the center cluster being installed in this church on the Sammamish Plateau. These EAW boxes are custom fitted to Morgan Sound designed bracket. Care was taken to keep the lines clean to match the dÈcor of the church. A Soundcraft LX7ii console controls the system with speaker management through BSS London BLU.

New Heart Worship Center/Federal Way, WA - This large worship facility has twelve Vertec 4888 speaker systems suspended below the roof support I-Beams with a custom suspension plate. Eight 18" subwoofers reside under the stage in specially constructed 'bunkers' to minimize stage vibration. The entire system is powered with QSC amplification processed through Soundweb 9088 and 9008 processors. The Yamaha DM2000 console is outfitted with optional fiber optic interface cards for the additional 16 channels of microphone preamps from Presonus. There is a small center fill cluster to fill in vocals down front, and a complete Aviom personal monitor system on stage. Morgan Sound provided all the light trussing, lift motors, motor control systems and audio equipment for this outstanding worship facility. Please see the photos of the New Heart Worship Center in our Photo Gallery.

Rock Church/Monroe, WA - The Rock Church features a complete EAW line array system using Crown amplification and Soundweb 9088/9008 processing. The 8 box arrays at each side of the stage use the KF730 "SLAM" box with the single driver subs flown at the side of the array. A special suspension system was designed by Morgan Sound to allow installation flexibility as well as desired weight distribution for the roof truss system, which was not originally designed for the array weight. There are also six dual 18" SB1000 subwoofers under the stage in custom designed and fabricated bunkers to minimize stage vibration. The front of house mixer is the Soundcraft MH3 with additional Aviom interfaces for the onstage monitor control system. Morgan Sound also installed an isolated split snake system to feed the house mixer and the adjacent recording facility. The third split of this snake is wired for road show interconnects with multipins and road show power disconnects. Morgan used the services of On Point Designs.for the interior design and build out, as well as the acoustical treatment we installed on the walls and ceilings. Isolated power transformers were installed to provide technical power for the sound, recording and video systems. Please see the photos of The Rock Church in our Photo Gallery.

Canyon Hills Community Church/Bothell, WA - Morgan Sound designed and installed a JBL VRX line array system for this church in November of 2005. The VRX system was chosen for its low profile, outstanding coverage and adaptability to the unique acoustic challenges of this church. The requirement included high SPL output for the contemporary services and even coverage front to back. This was accomplished with eight VRX 932LA enclosures and SRX728 dual 18" subwoofers. The existing amplification system was reconfigured and reused. For the extreme side fill coverage required, SRX712 monitor wedges were flown from available yoke mounts. The entire system, from concept to conclusion, was completed in three weeks.

Seattle First Covenant Church - A complete new system was installed in this domed church located in downtown Seattle at 400 East Pike Street. The building is on the Historical Register of Seattle, and great care had to be taken to integrate a system into the chancel dome without detracting from the interior architecture. The solution was to use a ring suspended inside the original lighting fixture hung from the center of the dome. Under balcony delay speakers were then integrated into existing locations, along with delay rings in the upper balcony of the church which could be muted if desired. To achieve the same sound under the balcony that was being experienced while seated in the open space below the dome, a digital reverberator with a specially modified program was used. An estimated 6.5 miles of new microphone cabling was installed. The entire amplifier and equalization section was fitted into an upstairs closet, with remote controls located in the main floor audio booth. This system has been in operation without failure for nearly 20 years. No photos are available.

Mountain View Presbyterian / Marysville, WA - This JBL AE Series installation included a three box center cluster and a side fill enclosure. Crown amplification, BSS processing and a Yamaha console round out the equipment list for this church expansion.

Sammamish Presbyterian Church / Sammamish, WA - This design was created by Jeff Sanderson of On Point Designs.for the church remodel and expansion in May of 2005. The design uses four EAW AX396 enclosures with a center-mounted subwoofer. All Crown amplification is processed by Soundweb and controlled from a Yamaha DM2000. Not viewable in the photo is the elaborate rigging scheme used to drop the suspension points below the raked ceiling. There is a 20 foot void above the ceiling at the speaker locations, and seismic code requirements did not allow for a simple chain or aircraft cable hang.

Northshore Baptist Church / Bothell, WA - This installation has been completed in some three phases, the first of which involved the installation of a new speaker system that consisted of the exposed delay speakers and an L/C/R cluster. The center cluster used the EAW AS660e enclosure with one EAWSB625z subwoofer. The outer speakers used the EAW AS660e. All delay speaker rings were outfitted with EAW AS300e speakers in L/R pairs. All amplification is by QSC. The church construction staff provided all the wire pulls and suspension points and grids.

In a second and third phase, the processors were upgraded to the Yamaha DME64, followed by the installation of a Yamaha PM5D console.

The design consultant for the project was Jeff Sanderson of On Point Designs.
